Stonewall - "Stonewall was founded in 1989 by a small group of women and men who had been active in the struggle against Section 28 of the Local Government Act. The aim from the outset was to create a professional lobbying group that would prevent such attacks on lesbians, gay men and bisexuals from ever occurring again. Stonewall has subsequently put the case for equality on the mainstream political agenda by winning support within all the main political parties and now has offices in England, Scotland and Wales."
The Pink Triangle Trust - "A charitable trust set up in 1992 to advance the education of the public, and particularly of lesbians and gay men, in the principles and practice of Humanism, and to advance the education of the public, and particularly of Humanists, about all aspects of homosexuality. It may also assist individuals to obtain remedies under the law where they have suffered unlawful discrimination on account of their homosexuality or their Humanism."
Equality Network (Scotland) The Equality Network works for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality and human rights in Scotland. We strive to be inclusive and open in our work, to challenge discrimination and to consult, involve and inform the individuals and the communities for which we work.
Business In The Community. While BITC campaigns widely on diversity in the workplace, specialist support on issues around sexual orientation can be provided by Stonewall through their Diversity Champion programme.
International
Amnesty International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) network All over the world lesbians, gay men, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people are being criminalised, tortured or ill-treated because of their sexuality. Amnesty and our LGBT Network work to expose these human rights abuses. We challenge governments and state authorities to fulfil their responsibility to protect LGBT people from such abuses.We campaign to protect human rights defenders who put themselves at risk by speaking out against human rights abuses based on sexuality or gender identity.
International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) is a leading international organization dedicated to human rights advocacy on behalf of people who experience discrimination or abuse on the basis of their actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.
International Lesbian and Gay Association ILGA’s aim is to work for the equality of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex people and their liberation from all forms of discrimination. We seek to achieve this aim through the world-wide cooperation and mutual support of our members.
