Gay Humanists Condemn Religious Intolerance on International Day Against Death Penalty
London, 10 October 2008 — Today is being marked around the world as the International Day Against the Death Penalty.
David Christmas, secretary of GALHA, said “The Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association condemns the use of the death penalty as a crime against humanity. In particular we remember on this day LGBT people of all religions and no religion who are judicially murdered because of their country’s condemnation of their sexual orientation.
“We condemn without reservation the religious bigotry and intolerance which often fuels these heinous crimes and commit ourselves to redouble our efforts to expose religious bigotry wherever and whenever it occurs.”
