GALHA Supports Equality Alliance
The Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association (GALHA), which hosted and financed the Campaign for Equality Standing Forum held at Conway Hall Humanist Centre on 4 April, is giving its full support to the Equality Alliance which was inaugurated at the Forum.
GALHA Secretary George Broadhead said: “As one of the largest and longest-established national gay and lesbian membership groups represented at the Forum, we think a new initiative like this is long overdue. Recent setbacks, the inaction of the Labour Government over lesbian and gay rights, and the increasing hostility of religionists to these rights, show that a concerted effort on the part of many groups is needed to make an impact.”
