I’m a former Chair of GALHA and last year I was pleased to rejoin the committee after an absence of 2 years. The main reason I joined was to make sure that we resumed the monthly public meetings at Conway Hall. This has been achieved and I look forward to the prospect of arranging a series of such meetings and events next year to mark GALHA’s 30th Anniversary. The work of GALHA seems to me to be of paramount importance as the main obstacle to LGBT rights is religious bigotry and fundamentalism. This is true not only in the UK but more particularly around the world and this is why my work as co-ordinator of the International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO) is of direct relevance to my work on the GALHA committee.
