Dear President Obama
Dear President Obama,
I am writing on behalf of the Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association to express our appreciation for your recent openness towards humanists and your support for gay rights as civil rights, and to convey our best wishes for a successful presidency.
We were heartened in particular by the inclusion of non-believers in your inaugural address and of humanists in your remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast on February 5th. We know from our kindred organisations in the United States that it is difficult to be non-religious and/or LGBT in some parts of the United States, and we wish you luck in your aspirations to change this and so much else in the years ahead.
Yours sincerely
Andrew Copson
