A Special Event to mark GALHA’s 25th Anniversary

We celebrate London’s gay history from the 17th century to the present day with readings from novels and factual accounts and dramatisations to illustrate this rich and colourful story.

At 7.30pm on Friday 14th May 2004
in the Library of Conway Hall Humanist Centre, 25 Red Lion Square, London WC1.

With a Very Special Celebratory Anniversary Cake kindly donated by a GALHA member.

And other food and drink generously supplied by GALHA.

Admission is free. All members of GALHA are welcome to attend. As places are limited, admission to non-members is by invitation only. To request an invitation please contact Derek.Lennard@galha.org.

Celebrity guest performers include:

Maureen Duffy – poet, novelist, playwright, honorary president of GALHA, acclaimed as Britain’s first woman to come out publicly as gay
Rictor Norton – freelance editor, writer and historian with a particular interest in gay history and literature
Terry Sanderson – author, counsellor and Gay Times columnist
Peter Tatchell – writer and indefatigable political activist on behalf of lesbian and gay rights for over 30 years
Andrew Barrow – author of Quentin and Philip
Rex Batten – whose articles in Gay and Lesbian Humanist describe aspects of being queer in the 1950s
Neil McKenna – author of The Secret Life of Oscar Wilde
Ivor Treby – gay poet whose work has been reviewed in Gay and Lesbian Humanist
